If you have been paying attention to the news lately, then you probably know that GM last year was down the toilet and they actually had to take out a loan from the U.S government. Well, I can tell you for sure that, that loan was just that a … loan and the government is expecting payment and GM is coming through!

Payments are being made constantly and with the first quarter of the year coming to a close, GM is paying $192 million to Canada and of course one billion back to the United States. Another installment should be given on March 31st as well.

Personally, I think that GM is doing something good right now. They are getting things done and making up for their debts.

If you are of retirement age, you can take your pension plus the $25,000 new car voucher or the cash payment. Finally, if you are a skilled-trade worker, you can take a $40,000 payout plus your pension.

The workers who are going to accept the buyout will need to leave sometime in February of 2010 and any new hires will start then … at a wage of about $14.00 per hour.

When buying a new car, you can get rid of your old one with for the poor.

Is this a smart business decision? Well of course it is – the new wage for the new hires would be half of what the old wage is, however how many people are actually going to take the buy out?

In the next blog, we will explore exactly what Ford is offering up to these folks. You do not want to miss this one!

When you think of Toyota – what is usually the first thing that you think about? Well, I usually think about quality, however – if you got yourself a brand new Toyota car that was China-made, you want to definitely return it. The reason? The door panel has definitely melted is the reason. While it is not your fault, if they are recalling all of the Toyota Camry’s that were China-made because of this problem, you should definitely return it!

While the fact that they are going to fix the problem for free might be great news for you, it is not for Toyota, for the customer service is already something that has went downhill, if they are skimping on quality as well and having to recall cars – it does not look good for this Japanese automaker.

The reason that the door panels melt is caused by excessive lubrication that was used during manufacturing, which can cause overheating and eventually melting.
